Speech-language services. Remotely or onsite

Our services include direct therapy, evaluations, staff training, supervision, consultation, and advocacy for families. If you are looking to improve the skills for your speech-language support staff, read more about our training program in partnership with Castleton University’s Center for Schools.

Our primary mode of service delivery to schools is teletherapy in partnership with onsite speech-language support. We’re not new to teletherapy; our experience spans more than a decade.

Maybe you have a small need for just a few hours each week or the need for a full-time provider. Let’s brainstorm. Thinking out of the box is one of our strengths!

We also occasionally provide private therapy services to families. We do not bill insurance but will provide you with the documentation you need to submit for reimbursement.

Speech-language evaluations

Evaluations are an integral part of the process in determining a student’s needs, whether they are in general or special education. When there are concerns related to communication, and sometimes even when initially there are not, the speech-language pathologist can help teams uncover the source of a student’s academic challenges. To that end, we do not take a “one size fits all” approach to evaluations. Participation in the evaluation planning process by the SLP helps individualize the evaluation through a series of targeted questions and thoughtful listening to parents and teachers.

SLPA training

Efficient utilization of support staff to meet students’ needs continues to be a major facet of a school’s special education program. Training your speech-language support staff is an investment your district can’t afford not to make! We have partnered with Castleton University’s Center for Schools to offer a course sequence designed in accordance with the requirements for the American Speech-Language Hearing Association’s SLPA certification designation. Contact us to find out when the next training cycle begins.

Special Education Advocacy Support for Families

The special education process does not need to be a mystery, because there is no magic to it. It can often be confusing for families - they don’t know what questions to ask, and they don’t know who to ask for help in making sure their child is getting what they need and so in the end, they may be unsure of whether or not their child is getting what they need. We help families by bridging the gap between parents and schools, helping them understand the process every step of the way.

Staff consult/supervision of SLP-A or SLP CF, remote or onsite

Your speech-language staff is busy. The demands of their daily responsibilities may mean little time to adequately supervise assistants or mentor a new clinical fellow on your staff. Maybe your district would like help with professional development for speech-language or special education staff, or a critical look at your service delivery model. If you’d like to ensure that your SLPs are practicing at the top of their license, let’s talk about ways SLCVT can support that goal.
